Yep,pedal placement is perfect. I actually had it too tight at one point (once the system got good and hot) and the clutch would slip if I even barely touched the pedal. I have the adjustment perfect now. I only have to push it in less that halfway to the floor and it will disengage. Man it`s more depressing that you imagine having these tranny problems. I wish now I would`ve just gotten a low mileage used one instead of a new one. The other night I did alot of searching on this site reading through a ton of old and newer posts and like the dealership said,the 2nd gear crunch seems to be really common. I wonder why Nissan didn`t continue to use the T5 in the Zs? I`ve tried to find out who makes our manual trannies and no one seems to know,not even the Nissan reps I`ve talked to.
